Tour1. National Licensed English Speaking Guide Walking Tour

In this walking tour, you can experience Japanese culture, history and tradition through long-established local shops and Gifu’s signature tourist spots including its Great Buddha.

We will visit: Shoho-ji(Gifu Great Buddha)Yubayu(Tofu Skin)Gifu Zenko-ji Temple → Inaba-Jinja Shrine → Fujii Butsudan(Buddhist alters)

Tour2. Experience the World of Wagashi

Okinaya Sohonpo is a family-run specialty shop for traditional Japanese sweets called Wagashi.
The program offers you a detailed explanation about Wagashi as well as an opportunity to try your hand at the final processes of making 3 kinds of sweets.

Tour3. Fun Night with Gifu Maiko at the traditional Japanese townhouse Cafe

Do not miss this special opportunity!
Similar to Kyoto, Gifu has also been nurturing a culture of hospitality through the performance of professional entertainers such as Geiko and Maiko (apprentice Geiko) since the Edo period. 
In this tour, you can see beautiful performance of Gifu Maiko at the second floor of the former Machiya (Traditional Japanese townhouse) renovated into a Café and Bar. The cafe is located at Kawaramachi, the riverside historical area of Gifu City. You can join this tour after watching Ukai (cormorant fishing) on Nagara River.
Fee: 1,500 JPY per person (*Drinks and food are not included.)
Drinks and food are available for an extra cost on the 1st floor.

Tour4. Zazen at Gifu Zenko-ji Temple

Gifu Zenko-ji was founded in 1582 when Nobunaga brought the Zenko-ji Nyorai from Shinshu.
In this program, you can learn the correct procedure when visiting a temple, and practice zazen. Zazen can increase concentration while de-creasing stress and anxiety.
Fee: 2,000JPY per person
Meeting Place: Gifu Zenko-ji Temple (1 Chome-8 Inabadori, Gifu-City)
Minimum Participants: 2 to 20 people

Tour5. The Minoyaki Pottery Guide

Nagara Tobo Ceramics was established in 2003 by the Master Potter, Shinji Majita. Specializing in the Mino-yaki style pottery, he has inherited and maintains its traditional techniques such as Shino and Oribe.
The program offers you a detailed explanation about Japanese pottery and how Mino-yaki is crafted.
